If you've been researching opal rings, then no doubt you would have come across a very stylish, sleek-looking type of ring - the Inlay Ring.
They look amazing, we cannot dispute this, however, we would like to point out that lately in the workshop, it seems that they are the only items we've been having to repair.

Here at Opals Down Under, we do often see customers come in wanting 'real' Australian Opal, nothing synthetic. Occasionally, they have confused Triplets and Doublets (which contain slivers of solid opal) with lab-created opal.Read more

You may have noticed over the last 12 months that we here at Opals Down Under have been experimenting with new settings in the Sterling Silver range. Utilising a mix of Boulder, Black, and Crystal Opals in very modern, unusual settings, these pieces have been very popular.

Our fearless leaders recently returned from a month-long stint out west following the Gem and Opal shows, and amongst the treasures they brought back with them was this little beauty that we've had cut into 2 pieces, then split both pieces.
As you can see from the photos, the colours revealed, even in their raw form, are spectacular.
